Dry pipe suppression systems

Dry pipe systems are one type of fire sprinkler systems. Dry pipe systems are generally used where the ambient temperature of an area to be protected will fall below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The dry valve holds water pressure back with air or nitrogen pressure. When an individual sprinkler is activated, the air is relieved from the system piping and allows water to enter and flow thru to the open sprinkler. Water is only discharged from an activated sprinkler.
